DiMeo Farms - Buyers beware - Image 2

BUYER BEWARE!!! I got my husband blueberry bushes for Father's Day from them.

They were 10 a piece with almost 30 for shipping so it was 80 for 5 bushes. The bushes didn't ship for almost two weeks after they cashed my check. The plants arrived at night and we had to plant them in the dark because it says we have to plant them immediately after they get here. Plus they shipped them on a 95 degree day and they were bare root in a bag ,in a box.

I have seen this before but I thought they would be in pots. We read all kinds of info on planting and taking care of the bushes. We had the soil ready and also the irrigation hoses they reccomend. Anyway, three of the five plants died a week after we got them and they didn't look so good when we got them to begin with.

I emailed the company and have not received a reply or a phone call. NOTHING. So basically I paid 40$ a piece for each bush that survived when it comes down to it. We were going to originally buy raspberry bushes from them too.

So very glad we didn't. At least Lowes guarantees their plants for a year after purchase. ...I'm one for supporting family business, as when my mom was alive she had a greenhouse business of her own, but it's not good practice to not stand behind your products or not even try to make good. I will tell everyone do not buy from this company they do not stand by their plants or even try to keep business!!

VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER. I WOULD GIVE THEM 0 STARS BUT THAT OPTION IS NOT AVAILABLE!!!THEY DO NOT STAND BY THEIR PLANTS!!

The photos I posted are literally a week after we got the plants and have been watering them and did everything they said to do. They looked half dead when we got them but we tried to give them a chance..

Horrible way to do business and ripping the roots off I'm sure dries the plant out and shortens it's lifespan.

Dimeo RIPOFFS / Purchase form others !!!!!!!!!!!

As on this site and Dave's Gardens site I was ripped off by Dimeo blueberry farms. I wished I would have read Pissedconsumer and Dave's Gardens sites about them first. Both sites together makes 100s of complaints. Most of the blueberry plants I got were only half as large as stated on their website. They say 4' plants will be sent but, most of the ones I got where only 2'(just 24"). Maybe all of us should email our own states Attoney Generals and New Jerseys AG and report him!! The amounts of ripoffs is in the Federal offence sums and then someone will do something about Dimeo.

My monetary loss was not as great but experienced similar problems with this company. The form sent with the plants says "as soon as the plant leaves the farm it is your responsibility "

But what about while it's being shipped and the responsibility of the farm to give the size promised and healthy plants who had not had their roots ripped off?

And proper packaging for shipment? Also cheating people out of money for shipping?

Three out of five of ours were pretty much dead on arrival too. What a shame!

Guest

WARNING... DO NOT buy from Dimeo rip offs farm, they charged me 319.00 for shipping and when it arrived it was 34.80, I was told the plants were 3-4 feet tall....they were between 10-14"!!!!!!

CROOKS!!!!! BEWARE YOU ARE WARNED!

Guest

The fraud continues with DiMeo of the size of plants and the state still choose to do nothing to shut down this business

Guest

Need to blame the state and government for DiMeo fraud they give a free pass for him to rip off the people

Wow. One look at that photo and I am soooooooo glad I did not place my order with this company.

I am sooo glad I checked reviews first.

I dodged a bullet. It seems clear they have no idea how to ship plants.

This DiMeo person making a lot of money off of good people who fell in a trap of his trust on the web page. He tells the people what they want to hear them when he gets their checks and cash them he sends any thing he has in stock wheather they one or two year old plants.

Then he tells them it is in his policy he can do what he wants to. This is just wrong

They kept referencing their terms & conditions on their website but transaction consisted of the telephone & US Postal Service. I have requested a refund but they refused.

and 3 year old , Mature ,4 feet high blueberry plant which is NOT, it came as a 1 foot , skinny blueberry plant. I am not going buy anything from this farm ever again!

Rudest service and lied to.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

They told me the product would ship by a date and called me over a week later to tell me it hasn't shipped yet. What left me shocked was the man who jumped on the phone after I asked the female rep a question.

He began to speak as if his mouth was a machine gun and words were his weapon. I've never seen anything like it in customer service. He kept repeating the same thing over and over raising his voice and not allowing me to speak. He ended it by insulting All New England people and telling me what he thought of us.

He never let me make my point and truly sounds like an insane person. I wish I never ordered from them.

Don't Order blueberry bushes here!!

I ordered 110 1.5 year old blue berry bushes and they arrived dead after being insulted on the phone that "I should have paid for next day shipping and my phone service sucks" I wrote it off as a learning experience, so much for planting my retirement pick your own blueberry field. They are rude and do not deliver any kind of customer service at all after the sale, they are a take the money and run operation and should be avoided at all cost. I will be contacting the B B B and the local newspaper to file complains in hopes of getting replacement plants or a refund. But that is not going to be enjoyable.

update on all this. They called me the day after i posted this and claimed that they had tracked my ISP, I didn't hide my location just didn't want junk email from the site.

NO way they are smart enough to track a isp, all they did a connection via my location and how many plants I ordered, and probably that I received them dead. I was berated and insulted and told there was no way for a refund or replacement plants because they "don't have a refund policy, and don't respond to BBB complaints." I cannot type loud enough to run from this farm.

I know they read these, cause this is how they tracked me, You can insult me on the phone and take my money and leave me with out blueberry bushes, but I can tie you up in court for years, consumer protection laws are a pain and always on the consumers side not on the side of a smart mouthed little *** artist ripping off consumers. Refund the money or replace the plants, It will save you a lot of time and effort.

Guest

Ordered plants and my check was cashed and didn't receive plants till I called to enquire about getting them 4 months later. It took 8 days to get them from when they sad they were shipping them and when they arrived not one was alive, they were not in any wrapping or shipping paper and looked like boxes of limb trimmings not plants with root structure.

When I called a rude little man told me I was out of luck on my 300 blueberry bushes and I should have had them shipped faster.

I went back and looked at my notes and I was never given an option to have them shipped any other way other than "shipped". I will be contacting the BBB in the area and looking for a full refund and damages.

Rip off artists! Google "Dave's Garden" for over 150 bad reviews!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

BEWARE. I chose this family farm to buy some blueberry plants.

Big mistake. I understood when they required me to send them a check for $75 and wait for it to clear before they would ship my plants. Perhaps people have ripped them off in the past and they have a right to protect themselves. I prepared my garden and enriched its soil while I waited for my "3 year old, up to 4 feet tall" bushes to arrive.

They were a very fair price at $10 each and the $25 shipping fee was also reasonable. Wow. My shipment arrived in a package no bigger than a shoe box! To add insult to injury, the box was labeled $10 PREPAID SHIPPING (when ordering on the phone I had asked very specifically if the extra $25 I was being charged was only the shipping cost and was assured that it was).

Inside were 5 bare root plants that measured no more than 16 inches and were as big around as a toothpick. None were labeled as to their variety nor was there any invoice or packing slip to speak of. I went about planting them in the pre-selected areas of my garden but just had to guess as to whether they were the kind that mature to more than 5 feet tall or perhaps they are full size at only a foot tall. No way to tell.

Once planted, I emailed the farm to express my disappointment in the size and quality of the plants and ask for an explanation for their shipping fee. I got no response. I sent a second email which was also ignored. Regretfully, I decided to let the matter go.

I was attentive to my new plantings and monitored their water and the ph of their soil. Winter came, then Spring. I shouldn't have been surprised to find that all but one of the plants were dead. So much effort, care and money wasted.

I sent DiMeo farm another email explaining the situation and including my previous two emails which had gone unanswered. I sent a 4th email with a "read receipt" request so at least I would know that someone was reading them. Nothing. I called the DiMeo farm twice last week and asked for the person in charge but they said there wasn't anyone; left my name and number but no return call.

Today when I called them and insisted that someone address this matter the girl on the other end of the line instantly turned into a computer voice reading their no refund policy to me in a monotone voice despite the fact that I declined her offer to do so saying it was not necessary. Next she hung up on me. Looking at their other negative reviews, I now realize that their mail-order side of the business is a total scam put in place to supplement their income from their "pick your own berries" business. This family has been in the game too long.

They've gotten lazy and spoiled on the backs of the previous generation, they don't want the public on their property but know they have to play nice and tolerate us to keep the money coming in. It seems that they feel justified in ripping of the mail order customers.

After all, what are we going to do? They already cashed our check!

Our experience was dismal.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I contacted Dimeo to order bushes for our farm in Virginia. They were bery brusque and told me to send a check (which I did) and they would call me and tell me when bushes would arrive.

I explained that we don't live on our farm so we need to know when they are shipped so we can be there to accept them. No call! I called them and they said they were shipped a few days ago. Sure enough I got there and they had arrived one day prior to my arrival.

15 blueberry bushes..8 dead. They were poorly packed, unwrapped and dry as a bone. I called them at least 8 times and they were again very curt and said maybe the farmer will call you. On the 8th try I asked if the farmer really gets the messages and she again said that maybe the farmer would call me.

He didn't and he won't. At the same time, I ordered from Gurney's. What a difference. They were well packed, damp, and covered with blossoms.

So far they are all alive. they even allowed me to use their discount which had expired the day before. Dimeo employees are rude and their products are inferior.

They definitely do not stand behind their product. I will never buy from them again.

I feel lied to & "taken."

My plants were $10 each, 3 year olds. They were of marginally acceptable quality BUT; I ordered 10 to be shipped to Ohio. Product total $100.00 The order was placed by phone when I received a call back after the order taker priced shipping to my location. I was told shipping would cost $49.18. which was about 1/2 the merchandise total. I was also told only checks were excepted. At first I assumed that this was a rather old school business policy. I later realized that the likely reason that charge cards are not excepted is that you can dispute charges if taken advantage of on a credit card transaction. The actual shipping costs were $13.90. While there were planting instructions in the box, there was no invoice. I was never informed of what variety they shipped me, or why I was [OVER]charged $49.18 for 13.90 shipping!!! There was NOT any mention of handling charges. I certainly feel handled!

Dimeo Farms - Blueberry Plant Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Purchased (5) 3yr old blueberry plants and had them delivered to my home in upstate NY via USPS. Between the day I received an email that they were shipped on 4/24 and delivery on 4/28, the plants were soaking wet inside a plastic bag within the shipping box.

I took them out and the flowers and leaves were falling off faster than a trees drops it leaves in the fall. I soaked them for 24 hrs and set them in the ground. All leaves and buds were off at this time and the stems were turning brown. I called Dimeo Farms and the funny part of the many calls there, After I mentioned that I received the delivery, the person on the other end suddenly could not hear me..

That happen three times. I was able to leave a message on the recording and never received a call back. DON'T BUY FROM THIS FARM!

THEY DO NOT RETURN YOUR CALLS AND I AM OUT $50 BUCKS! LESSON LEARNED!

I ordered five blueberry bushes and five raspberry bushes for $100 and the shipping was &58.36. The raspberry bushes were just shoots, not bushes.

The blueberry bushes were very damaged. One died pretty quickly. They simply read their website statement to me when I called. They will not replace the dead bush And refuse to help in any way to treat me as a paying customer.

Before the order was final, they tetirned all messages.

Now, They refuse to answer messages. No wonder they do not accept credit Cards!

DiMeo Fruit Farm ***-ARTIST

The so-called "policy" this company has written on their site is a SCAM! It states that they can ship you whatever plants they choose upon receipt of your money, so what happens is...

when they get your money they cash the check and go on with their life, since they have "supposedly" alleviated themselves of the responsibility to fulfill written/paid orders. Don't believe me, then read it... it is hidden under the side tab "privacy policy". The owner is a personally offensive, young, and rude man.

NOTICE HE IS ON THE INTERNET FREQUENTLY POSTING, IN AN ATTEMPT TO HIDE THE BAD REVIEWS. Also, The web sites that host as review forums should not allow the company owners' voice to be more heard than the consumers, by placing their posts above the consumers'.

THIS COMPANY IS TERRIBLE! Take your business elsewhere!

Di Meo fruit farm is the worst company I ever dealt with. I wonder if their plants are really organic and non GMO.

If anyone could figure that out please do. I would love to find out. Also the person answering the phone was extremely rude and did not care to keep you as a customer. He accused me of cursing and harassment when I called back to speak to the owner.

Maybe he was the owner.I was shocked until I read a ton of negative reviews.Dave Garden, a great website) has 3 paged of negative reviews. Read them, they are shocking.

this is the first product review I have ever written, but i believe it is needed. do not buy from this company.

They lie and say you get 4' tall plants when some were 18 inches. They charge a ton for shipping. The owner sounds like a *** on the phone. he even introduced himself as Mr.

dimeo. Who does that?

Get plants from somewhere else. I wish i read the reviews on this place first!

Guest

Products shipped are NOT as advertised. Their "$10 ultra-premium 4' foot large blueberry plants" are spindly little 2' tall plants. Customer service states they are cut down to help with transplantation, but there were no fresh cuts in these plants that were hand dug "only hours before shipping".

Expect bare-root plants even though they charge heavy shipping & handling fees and infer that plants will come potted. They don't label varieties, so you won't know what varieties they shipped or if it is actually a mix of three varieties like they tell you.

There are also no guarantees they will grow like most sellers make.

Unfortunately, you have to find out all of this on the sheet they send with the plants. Don't ask customer service for help. They'll tell you all of this information is on their "policy" web page. Actually its on their "privacy policy" web page. I'm not sure what these details about the plants have to do with a privacy policy, other than they would like to keep it private.

Guest

DiMeo been a fraud since 2009 when he started and now and all these years that past he stole hundred of thousands of dollars from hard working people and the state and government allow him to do so even with all the complaints of hundreds of people and with all the cash sales he has the IRS should look into this company for tax invasion
